Vehicle Description
This 1972 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 4.5 is one of 2,533 total W109 300SEL 4.5's built between 1972-73 globally. This particular US-Spec example was sold new in Indianapolis, IN to the Allison Family, of which the patriarch, James Allison founded the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500, as well as the Allison Engineering Company, which was purchased by General Motors thus creating the "Allison Transmission" moniker for GM cars & trucks. The car is named "Esther" after the original owner's grandmother.

This example is a mechanically sound driver, with recent services totaling over $6,000 that can be driven & enjoyed in it's current, unaltered original form, or make an excellent candidate for a cosmetic restoration. The air suspension was redone by the previous owner and is fully functional, along with a recent fuel injector service. The interior and exterior are both original, with the exception of the factory wood trim being treated. There is rust present on both front fenders, as well as the quarter panels & trunk. There is no rust present on the rockers. There are miscellaneous dings, dents, and paint chips consistent throughout the body. The original dash has no cracks or warping, thanks to a protective dash mat cover (photos in gallery). The headliner and front driver and passenger seats have cracks and tears present in them. Included with the car is a set of steel wheels, car cover, and sunshade. Please call Bryan (609-915-7776) or Cyrus (908-655-7577) for more information on this very special 300SEL 4.5 today.
